smoke and fog, lights and noise
filler space and filler bands,
each one better,
til the show begins.
some of the best
are old as the hills -
don't be scared off
by grey hair,
wedding rings,
the scars of commitment.
sometimes the best comes with age,
not the exuberant boy
running around onstage,
singing his heart out.
